Mentally Exhausted. Questioning Everything. Still Showing Up (Juntos).
Let's talk.
Another surreal week has passed. As I sit here writing while there are 20" of snow outside and not gonna lie, I've been doom scrolling, all I can ask is, “Dios mío, ¿por qué tanto odio?” It’s mentally exhausting right? and honestly, sometimes physically unsettling. I don’t recognize the United States of America… or maybe it’s always been this way, and people now just feel more permission to openly hate anyone who looks different, speaks differently, or thinks differently.
Little by little, it can feel like your freedom is being chipped away. You feel wrong or scared for speaking up. Wrong or scared for staying quiet. You scroll through social media and wonder if there was ever a safer time or place to exist fully as yourself.
If that’s you...I see you. You are not alone.
Between you and me, there have been days recently when I ask myself, Why am I doing this? Why continue building a business rooted in preserving culture, language, and identity when it sometimes feels like those very things are being targeted or erased? Especially when it can feel unsafe.
And every time, the answer comes back clear in my heart: because giving up would mean giving up on you. On your kids. On hope. On humanity.
In 2017, I felt a higher calling to start Mi Legasi. I can’t fully explain it, but God spoke to me clearly during a pivotal moment in my life, just as He/She has at other defining points along my journey. Since then, this work has continued to evolve alongside me.
And now, in this season, I feel something shifting.
Everything I’ve built...the conversations, the stories, the trust, the voices that have been heard...is no longer meant to live only in content or podcast episodes. It’s meant to live between us, in intentional spaces where we can slow down, speak honestly, and support one another.
That’s why you’ll begin to see more opportunities to come together through free classes, paid small-group workshops, and a new group coaching program I’ll be carefully testing with a small group. Not because I have all the answers, but because this moment calls for connection, guidance, and comunidad more than ever.
This week on The Latina Mom Legacy, I talk openly about what it truly means to raise bilingual children in a world that often pressures us to assimilate and want to forget where we come from. But here’s the truth: it’s not just about language. It’s about confidence. It’s about choosing connection over convenience. It’s about keeping our cultures alive...con intención, amor, y valor.
I share my family’s immigrant story, the very real challenges we face as parents (yes, even imperfect Spanish), and why raising bilingual kids is not an act of defiance, but an act of deep love and purpose.
