You probably heard about the January 30th strike, a call to stop working, schooling, and spending as a form of protest. While I don’t agree with many of the current administration's tactics, I especially don’t agree with harming the very communities we’re trying to protect.
Tbh, I don’t believe in shutting down small, minority-owned businesses.
And I don’t believe in pulling our kids out of school.
And I don’t believe in pulling our kids out of school.
Education is power. And where we spend our money matters.
So if we’re going to strike, let it look like this:
• Be intentional about where you spend
• Put money back into our communities
• Educate yourself and your children
• Speak up for those who can’t

While much of the U.S. paused, I was in Canada watching my daughter play in a hockey tournament. Her team lost...badly, but she played her best hockey yet and earned MVP as a hockey goalie.
It reminded me: progress doesn’t always look like winning...
Sometimes it looks like persistence.
Sometimes it looks like growth in the middle of disappointment.
And sometimes it looks like trusting the process even when the scoreboard says otherwise.

That, mi amiga, is no different than raising bilingües!
You won’t “win” every day. Your child won’t always respond in Spanish. There will be seasons where progress feels slow or invisible. But consistency, intention, and showing up anyway? That’s where the real growth happens.
And that’s exactly how I’m approaching February to help you continue on this journey.
