About Graciela Tiscareño-Sato

Graciela Tiscareño-Sato

Graciela is a highly decorated Air Force aviation veteran and creator of the world's first bilingual children's aviation book trilogy in which a mamá is flying a military airplane. At schools, teacher conferences and the airshow industry, she is known as Captain Mama / Capitán Mamá for the uniquely inspirational community outreach and STEM mentoring she does ahead of and during airshows nationwide. Graciela was commissioned as the 2nd Lieutenant, United States Air Force, immediately upon graduating from the University of California at Berkeley where she attended as a 4-year scholarship cadet after moving 1100 miles from her familia... an act considered culturally-rebellious that shocked her entire Mexican-American neighborhood in Colorado.

Since leaving the Air Force, she's worked in two tech industries in management roles in Silicon Valley and created award-winning indie publishing firm Gracefully Global Group in 2010 to publish literature to showcase the POSITIVE contributions of Latinos in the USA. "Latinnovating: Green American Jobs and the Latinos Creating Them" and "B.R.A.N.D. Before your Resumé" are Graciela's award-winning, nonfiction books found worldwide. CaptainMama.com

What a great podcast! I’m neither Latina nor a mom, but I’m a huge huge fan of learning foreign languages and an even more massive fan of Graciela as I was her college marching band classmate. Thank you so much for this podcast!
