Connection is the way back to our roots.
If you've been looking for a place to reconnect with your culture, nurture your bilingual family, and raise kids who are proud of both of their worlds...
Welcome to Mi LegaSi - pronounced "me legacy."
It's a play on words: "Mi" (my) + "LegaSí (a "yes" to your legacy).
Because when we say Mi Legasi, we're saying yes to keeping our languages, culture, and family legacy alive, one word, one story, and one child at a time.
I know what it’s like to wonder if you’re doing enough to keep Spanish alive at home or to worry that you or your child might become a“no sabo kid.” That feeling of being caught between two languages and two cultures (ni de aquí ni de allá) is real.
I’m Janny Pérez, bilingual parenting educator, author, and creator of Mi Legasiand The Latina Mom Legacy Podcast. As a first-generation Latina raising a trilingual child in the U.S., I’ve learned that bilingual parenting isn’t about perfection... it’s about connection...small, meaningful moments that keep culture and language alive todos los días.
...to help parents like you keep culture alive at home, through resources, bilingual books, cultural traditions, and The Latina Mom Legacypodcast. It has since grown into a supportive communitythat celebrates bilingual parenting in all its forms.
Living a bilingual & bicultural life means:
By embracing who we are and passing that pride to our kids, we create a legacy that lasts generations...una legado de amor, cultura, y lenguaje.
